This ‘à la carte’ restaurant offers its guests a gastronomic cuisine with international and Indian Ocean specialities. The restaurant is regularly awarded by a ‘Certificate of Excellence’ from Trip Advisor and has been recognised as the ‘Best Fine Dining Cuisine’ of the island by the prestigious ‘World Luxury Restaurant Awards 2022’.
The setting at Château Mon Désir is highly romantic with its sandy driveway, thick stonewalls and historical surroundings. Built in 2009, during the refurbishment of the hotel, on the replica of a typical colonial style mansion, it was named after the splendid country house ‘Mon Désir’ of Pierre Adolphe Wiehe, a merchant of Port-Louis who bought the whole Balaclava area in the 19th century.
Its large terrace and veranda are overlooking the ‘Historical Ruins of Balaclava’ an old flourmill and distillery dating from the 18th century and River Citron. Its atmosphere and surroundings are simply magical.
Relished on a fine dining cuisine with specialities of France and the Indian Ocean carefully prepared bythe Chef, the restaurant has been officially recognised as a Champagne sabrage cellar and also hosts a choice of world-class wines in its elegant wine cellar.
